Spotlight on Fall/Winter colours: sky blue

Ah, Tuscany in the Fall. The weather is finally cool enough for us to wear wooly scarves, and the air’s been cleaned by rains, making for the most beautiful blue sky to shine through wherever we are – at work in the city, or on weekends in the countryside.

Prada shoes, BettaKnit blue yarn

We at BettaKnit declare the colour of the Fall/Winter 2011/2012 season to be sky blue. It’s not the newest colour in the rainbow, but it looks good on just about everyone, from blondes to brunettes, pale or dark skin. We love this colour because it matches with so many things. Toss it together with jeans and a leather jacket, it looks cool with beiges and browns, pops out on black, and totally wearable on its own.

Top H&M, outfit Missoni

We’ve noticed that we’re not the only designers to think along these lines. We love the Prada ballerina slippers in deep turquoise. The woven leather has an almost knit effect! Then check out what Missoni is doing with a Navaho look, which could easily be combined with a simple block colour top from H&M. On the runway at Iceberg we’re seeing some really hot blue knits – a 3/4 length knit dress! and a really comfy sweater.
