What is Cashmere Wool?

In this yarn the warm and soft australian lambswool meets the old and elegant mongolian cashmere.

About cashmere we could write a whole book. We all know how precious and warm it is. In fact, it’s the oldest animal fiber in the world and it has always been considered a symbol of fashion, elegance, a status symbol. It wasn’t for all: only kings and emperors could afford it. Because the process to get the yarn was extremely costly for those who produced it and, therefore, expensive for those who bought it.

What determines the quality of cashmere?

Capra cashmere

Cashmere is obtained from the fleece of a goat which lives exclusively in Asia. The quality of the fiber depends on the origin and climatic conditions. In fact, when winters are harsh and long, the goat’s hairs becomes thiner and the fiber finest.

Not only. Even the configuration of the pastures has its importance on the final product.

Bettaknit Cashmere Wool comes from the Inner Mongolia and it’s of the highest quality.

What are the characteristics of our Cashmere Wool?

The beauty of this yarn is that combines the beneficial qualities of two very fine fibers. Both keep you warm and they are gentle on your skin.

The huge breathability of lambswool meets the peculiarity of cashmere to absorb moisture up to 30% of its own weight.

Finally how not to mention the softness, that makes this yarn unique: the short fibers of lambswool blended with those extra-fine of cashmere. The result is all to touch!

What create, how to wash Cashmere Wool and… other technical info.

What a shame that intenet doesn’t return you the feeling of touch. You should touch: Cashmere Wool is so soft. Imagine touching the fluffy fleece of the sheep-goat. You stroke it and you don’t feel any resistance, but a light breath. This is the feeling!

Now, imagine it in contact with your skin: almost a caress!

For this characteristic it is perfect, as Lambswool, for any garment to be in contact with your skin.

How to wash your Cashmere Wool clothes?

Cashmere Wool is a delicate high quality yarn. So, if you want your clothes are kept as long as possible, you have to treat it with care. Especially during washing!

No worries, it’s easy:

1. Wash your garment by hand in warm water (30°) with a specific detergent for wool. We recommend: don’t keep it to soak for too long otherwise the fibers are ruined!

2. Rinse thoroughly until water isn’t clear

3. Dry the garment wrapping it in a towel, so that excess water is absorbed

4. Lay the garment horizontally otherwise it will irreparably deform

If, once dry, should remain creases, iron it inside out by setting the iron temperature on lower-middle. Don’t iron the garment by placing the iron in direct contact, but use a cotton cloth as a filter!
